The Bagan king was the quirkiest hotel I could find in Mandalay. The location was fairly good with a number of restaurants and bars (not like a western bar) located close by. There was a mini-mart just across the road which stocked most of the things we needed. The buffet breakfast was good and the view from their rooftop restaurant was amazing with a great view of the city. The decor of the restaurant is also something to note with painted ceilings and Burma dolls lining the wall (with some unique ones for sale) If you’re into unusual hotels like me when in Mandalay Bagan King is where you should stay.

In Mandalay, there was touts out the front of the Bagan King Hotel, who we booked with for the journey the next day. Their prices were reasonable for around A$30 for the day to go see temples and more temples.

Do you feel like ice cream and in Chaing Mai? Do you want to go somewhere a little fancier for ice cream or milkshake? This is definitely the place to come!

The decor is so strange… I love it!

Has an interesting garden and has a very quirky decor. They have free all you can drink iced tea as well, Just help your self. A lot more to explore than my photos, but ill leave you to do that!

Idea for dinner before ice cream

So if you need an idea for dinner before ice cream. I highly suggest khao soi. This is a traditional dish of Chang Mai, It is a curry noodle soup that contains soft noodles and crunchy on top. If you get a good one you will be crazy like me about it. Luna says I’m ting tong because whenever we are in Chaing Mai all I want to eat is khao soi. I’ll update on my favourite next time we’re there I forget the name.

I love anything theme park related and super excited to visit Fantasea in Phuket. I’m sure I was a circus carney in my last life. I have always skipped off the buffet they offer as a package for Fantasea as I heard it was hit or miss. But don’t let this stop you from coming early before the show! There is a sideshow alley and castle to take your perfect selfies at. They also have a koi pond that you can feed and buy food or bottles to feed them.

As for the show I have been a few times now and probably will go a few more before I have seen it enough. Although I don’t go to Phuket all that often. It is a wonderful performance with acrobatics from the ceiling to ducks swimming across the stage. You really should not miss this one.

After the show, you can have photos with the elephants in costumes if that’s your thing or with the cast. There may be an expense whether a tip or a professional photo taken. This seems to be common practice in Phuket.

We are often unsure of going to shows because of the mistreatment of animals. I’m happy to say the animals all looked healthy, well cared for and happy on all my visits.

Condoms & Cabbages has to be one of my favourite restaurants in Bangkok! Such a unique quirky theme. Yet the food is to die for. My personal favourites are the purple dumplings. I always try and make a stop here on a trip to Bangkok. The prices are a little high, But the proceeds go to a good cause. Quite possibly the only restaurant to give you a condom instead of an after-dinner mint! They have a gift shop that you can buy some bizarre condom related merchandise. Or just walk around after a meal and meet Santa Condom Clause and the other Condom made hosts. This place is so condom crazy even the light shades are made of them. The restaurant’s motto is “our food won’t make you pregnant”

What more could you ask for when dining other than to be served over a table full of frangers. Let’s just pray they are unused.
